CPR/BLS Provider (for healthcare providers) - Olathe Campus

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider course is designed for healthcare professionals, healthcare students, and anyone who requires a BLS certification for employment or clinical placement. This full‑day, instructor‑led course teaches participants how to recognize life‑threatening emergencies, provide high‑quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, deliver effective ventilations, use an AED, and function as part of a high‑performance resuscitation team.

This class is ideal for anyone who has not had prior CPR training, as well as those who need a structured, hands‑on learning environment with direct instructor support.

• Nurses & nursing students
• Medical assistants
• Respiratory therapists
• EMTs / first responders
• Clinical staff & allied health professionals
• Anyone required to maintain a BLS Provider certification

What to Expect in Class:

Participants will learn and practice:

• High‑quality adult, child, and infant CPR
• Use of a bag‑mask device
• AED operation and safety
• Team roles and dynamics in resuscitation
• Relief of choking for all ages
• Core AHA BLS concepts (rate, depth, recoil, minimal interruptions)

Course includes:
✔ Full‑day, instructor‑led training
✔ Hands‑on skill stations
✔ Skills testing & written exam
✔ AHA BLS Provider eCard valid for 2 years

Additional Class Information:

• Wear comfortable clothing for floor‑based CPR practice.
• Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early for check‑in.
• Please do not bring children/infants unless they are registered students.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fee charged for such a course except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials do not represent income to the Association.
